Tales of Transformation: Muskegon Area District Library
Tales of Transformation: Muskegon Area District Library

We love hearing our client’s tales of transformation stories.
What problem did you have before you decided to hire Taylor Studios?
The Muskegon Area District Library
(MADL) had a design for Muskegon Storyville, three distinct early literacy
villages located in three existing library branches. We needed a company who could work with us to
make the designs come to life.

How did Taylor Studios help with that problem?
Taylor Studios responded to our RFP
with an amazing proposal. Taylor Studios is known for their unique, creative,
museum quality installations. Their proposal was not only within our budget,
but it included working with us on the design, construction, and installation
of our pieces. It made our decision to go with Taylor Studios an easy one.

How would you describe the transformation of your site?
It is difficult to describe in words
the incredible transformation that took place in our branches. All of our libraries have children’s areas
with books, toys, and a variety of activities. When they gave up part of their
space for Muskegon Storyville, the branch leaders were unsure. They worked closely with us to give feedback
on designs, but you never know exactly what it will be like until you see
it. When the installations began to
arrive, all of the staff were in awe.
The children’s area went from a traditional library, to an innovative,
engaging, and inviting early literacy space.
