Fort Bend Museum

Fort Bend History Association

The Fort Bend History Association undertook a complete museum renovation and hired Taylor Studios to design and build out their entire exhibit space. Beginning the project amidst existing construction, our team demonstrated its expertise in envisioning creative, compelling possibilities even without initial access to the physical space.

The resulting exhibit covers over 200 years of rich Texas history with diverse, engaging elements. Unique interactives include a trunk of period clothing that offers a fun photo opportunity for younger visitors, a small-scale wagon reproduction inviting guests to plan a journey’s supplies, and a dramatic choice interactive that places the visitor in the shoes of a prisoner. One of the most impressive aspects of the design is the completely flexible, mobile exhibit area spanning the center of the space. All artifact cases, platforms, themed crates, and benches are on discreet, lockable wheels, allowing museum staff to easily reconfigure or clear the area to suit different events. Platforms transform into either a single stage or individual plinths, and graphics and artifacts can be quickly swapped out to refresh the exhibit or highlight seasonal stories.

Taylor Studios proudly delivered the crucial flexibility and creative partnership required by the Fort Bend Museum, exceeding their expectations for a dynamic and adaptable history museum exhibit.
