11 Signs You Might be a Micromanager

Last Friday, at my Vistage meeting, we all took a quiz on whether we are micromanagers or not. The book Creating Passion-Driven Teams by Dan Bobinski noted that micromanagers share certain characteristics. These behaviors can do a lot of harm even when the intent is good. Here are some symptoms that can be observed in those who are micromanaging:

Currently, I would say I am only guilty on one of these. I think years ago I was guilty of many more. Some of these I do occasionally. How many of the eleven do you do? How many do you see your supervisor doing?
