I got to spend the majority of my week with clients. For years we have set the bar for excellent customer service at whether we get hugs from clients. When my staff comes back from the road one of the first questions we ask is if they got hugs. Our fabricators get lots of hugs after our installs are complete. They like to brag about it, which is great. This may seem like a strange KPI (Key Performance Indicator), yet it encourages our staff to take care of our clients.
This week my goal was to observe and make sure it was a good experience. My staff is the experts on the nuances of each project, so the best way for me to offer value was to help define what success looks like. Success can be defined differently for each project. Yet, if you observe and hear the following things from your client it is a good sign you are doing the right things:
This week we got many hugs. We like to think our creative process makes us really easy to work with. This leads to happy clients.
